while crossing the road today, well actually jaywalking, i saw an interesting sight. an old lady followed the example of many around her and jaywalked too, more like jay-ambled. a van was about to reach the intersection and starting blaring its horn at the old lady. strangely enough, the old lady didn't bother to walk faster and instead started gesturing and yelling at the van driver in dialect,"lai lai, long hor wa si, long liao wo jio bian an ni pai mia liao. lai long, lai," which roughly translates to "come come, knock me down and kill me, then i won't have such a hard life anymore. come knock me, come." the driver could only stop in front of the old one and stare in stunned silence, like the many bystanders around, which makes me wonder what happened to the old lady to make her feel like dying. well only she'll know. funnily enough the incident made me think about life again. like how all of us didn't choose to come into this world. we didn't make that decision, our parents did haha. and now most of us live because we have to, since we can't just end our life like that now that we've been brought into this world. but, note that i say most of us are like that, for some of the billions of people in this world live, not because they have to, but because there's something in their life worth living for. be it someone, or something. it may be a person, or perhaps something they enjoy doing, or maybe a goal they've yet to achieve. whatever it is, i believe there's something in each and everyone's life that's worth him/her living for. i'm trying to look for mine, or maybe i've found it but i do not know it yet. have you found yours?
