when you lose something, very often its not the loss of the item that hurts. rather, its the sentimentality to you that you cherished. or to put it more succinctly, its the loss of the intangible emotions that you associate with the item that hurts more. and like they say, we only cherish what we've lost, especially people around us. and truth be told, the loss strikes you even more so when you're down and you really need someone around.

so, the next time you lose someone, ask yourself if the loss of the person hurts more, or the loss of the feelings that particular person actually stirs up in you actually does the hurting. if its the former, well you probably found someone you cannot live without. and if its the latter, well time to move on and find someone that makes you feel the same way too, although you'll probably go through the same thing over and over again.

cos what we all need is someone we cannot live without, and not someone we can simply live with.
